Arts Country Announces Juried Arts Competition

Artists residing in the five counties that make up the South Central Ontario Region (SCOR) have an extra incentive to get creative this spring. The Norfolk Arts, Culture, and Heritage Alliance (NACHA), in partnership with the Norfolk Arts Centre, is announcing the first annual Arts Country Juried Arts Competition. Prizes include a total of $5500 cash and an opportunity to be featured in the 2012 edition of Arts Country. Partial funding for the 2012 edition of Arts Country has been contributed by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Long Point Eco-Adventures selected as Signature Experience Destinations by the Canadian Tourism Commission
Mike McArthur, one of the owners along with Dave Pond, says “This selection will not only provide international exposure for Long Point Eco-Adventures but also position Norfolk County, Ontario’s South Coast and the Southwest Ontario Tourism region for the international tourism markets for years to come and will lead to additional opportunities, relationships in the future development and the selection of additional Signature Experience Destinations in the future. We are thankful for the assistance and support from our local, provincial and federal representatives and their staff as well as the citizens of Norfolk and SCOR EDC and the Southwest Ontario Tourism counties. Moreover, we are so grateful to have such wonderful and dedicated staff since we opened in 2009. They have been the difference in creating an exceptional experience for everyone of our visitors .”
Dave Pond commented “The foray adventure combines the best of Canada’s expert naturalist Robin Tapley and Bob Bowles, is one of many high quality activities that international travellers want to experience, brings together great people, great adventure and great wine from Burning Kiln Winery in one phenomenal setting.”
